Temporary hospital under construction in Northeast China

An exhibition center in Changchun, the capital of Jilin province in Northeast China, is under construction and will be turned into a temporary hospital with more than 1,500 beds, reported Xinhua News Agency on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a temporary isolation site with more than 700 beds will also be set up in other pavilions near the temporary hospital.

The Chinese mainland on Saturday reported 1,807 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.

Of the new local infections, 1,412 were reported in Jilin.
