4.91 'at all'

You can add 'at all' to a negative statement in order to make it more emphatic. You use 'at all' with any negative word, with 'without', or with a broad negative.

• She had no writing ability at all.
• 'There's no need' said Jimmie. --- 'None at all'.
• They run education without any control at all from central government.
• He hardly read anything at all.
