3.128 complements

A link verb links a subject and a complement. The subject, as usual, comes first and the complement comes after the verb. The complement describes or identifies the subject; it is a structure built around either an adjective or a noun.

• Her general knowledge is amazing.
• The children seemed frightened.
• That's a very difficult question.
• I'm the Chairman of the Howard League for Penal Reform.
• Suleiman Salle became the first President of Eritrea.
